About this trip

The Root Initiation

It is a true Rite of Passage, a “coming of age” ritual for women and men of all ages.

It offers without exception a true physical and spiritual test delivering completely changed people on the other side. Your life will always be compared to your life ‘before’ the Root, and your life ‘after’ the Root.

The initiation works as a way to ensure integrity, alignment, and connection. It is a cleaning and clearing of your core wounds and biggest egoic deficiencies that have moved you away from your true self, and the quintessence of who you truly are at a soul level. It is this initiation where you learn the reality of life, meet your soul, and learn who you truly are.

We work with the spirit of a plant from Africa. It has profound mystical properties that allow direct connection to your own source consciousness without intermediaries. It has been called the ‘Tree of Knowledge’ in the bible and gives profound access to all sorts of pockets and places of consciousness. It grounds you deeply into this reality while giving you access all the way to the Godhead.

It allows your conscious mind to navigate your subconscious and unconscious minds. You can become the cosmonaut of your Innerspace and have revealed to you many things from your childhood that have been deeply buried and forgotten that have shaped your reality to this day. You will be able to access deeply buried unconscious and long-suppressed fears, and negative emotions you didn’t know existed but are affecting your life to this day.

The initiation takes you back to your formative years and deals with the childhood and ancestral conditioning you experienced growing up. It gives you the opportunity to reprogramme your childhood and elevate the conditions of your life.

We want to make sure there are no surprises when you arrive.

Travel Advice

📅 Bookings & Travel Preparation

All participants should plan to fly into Queenstown International Airport (ZQN).

Your accommodation from Arrival on Day 01 to check-out on the morning of Day 07 is fully included in your package. This covers your hotel stay in Queenstown and all shared nights at the private retreat venue in Wanaka.

🕒 Arrive Early for Jet Lag & Contingency

For those travelling from the U.S., Europe, or other long-haul destinations, we strongly recommend arriving one to two days earlier.

This buffer allows your body to adjust to the time zone, recover from travel fatigue, and protect against any unexpected flight delays — ensuring you begin the initiation grounded, rested, and present.

Please note that any accommodation booked before the official start date is at your own expense and can be arranged independently at one of the many hotels near Queenstown International Airport or in the city centre.

🌄 Extend Your Stay (Optional)

If your schedule allows, we also invite you to extend your stay after the initiation concludes on Day 07. Spending an extra day or two can support deeper integration before onward travel.

Any additional nights beyond the included itinerary are optional and at your own cost.

🌦 Pre-Trip Practicalities

  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended, covering flight delays, medical emergencies, and cancellations.

  • Mobile connectivity: confirm your international roaming plan or consider purchasing an eSIM or local SIM card on arrival.

  • Documentation: keep both digital and printed copies of your passport, visa/NZeTA confirmation, travel insurance, and emergency contacts.

Payment Options

We’re delighted to partner with WeTravel, our trusted booking and payment platform for all retreats. It’s simple, secure, and gives you flexibility in how you pay.

Here’s how it works:

  • You can make your payment in your local currency (where supported) — no surprise conversion charges.

  • WeTravel accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and also bank transfers in many currencies.

  • Bank transfers are often fee-free, depending on your country.

  • Credit card payments include a small processing fee (around 2.9% – 3.9%, depending on your card type and country).

  • You’ll see any applicable fees clearly displayed before you confirm payment.

  • Card payments are processed instantly; bank transfers can take 3 – 7 business days to clear.

If you prefer to avoid card fees, we recommend using a bank transfer where available.

WeTravel is globally trusted by thousands of retreat leaders and travel organizers, so you can book with confidence knowing your payment is handled safely and transparently.

Accommodation

On Day 1, you’ll arrive in Queenstown and settle into your hotel for a night of rest and arrival.

Day 2 serves as an Orientation Day — a gentle introduction to the journey ahead while still based in Queenstown.

On Day 3, the group will travel together to the private retreat venue in Wanaka, where the sacred field of the Root Initiation begins. During this portion of the journey, all participants will stay together in shared sleeping arrangements within the ceremonial space itself, creating a unified energetic field throughout the experience. The two ceremonial days and two integration days — Days 3 through 6 — are spent in this shared container of deep process, rest, and renewal.

On Day 6, the group returns to Queenstown, checking back into the hotel for a final night of grounding and rest before Departure Day on Day 7.

This balanced flow of three hotel nights and three retreat nights honours both the potency of collective transformation and the comfort of private restoration — a rhythm designed to support every layer of the initiation experience.
